If memory serves its equipped with a 5.5L V12. Top speed is ~190 mph. Definitely should do the job. How's the ride?

I think the 550/575 is the very last good looking front engine Ferrari they made........ in fact I like the 550 better, the 575 has those wacky looking headlights...... good'on'ya

Great cars-I've had some great drives in a 550 w/Maranello package! Only real issues with the car were an annoying false alarm with the security system and a leaking gas tank. I was following your thread on F-chat and love the yellow.
    Congrats!

They are the modern version of the Daytona. The 550 is a 2 seater with a 6 speed, 3 pedal. Last of the front engine V12 stick shifts. An under valued car in my opinion. The majority of 575s have the F1 Auto trans.

    Ferrari 550 Maranello

    Love-love-love this car . . .

Not exactly a bashful shade, is it?

Now . . . . show off your interior. Especially that 'parcel shelf,' in back . . .

Oh --- and some motor-porn, too, please?

How fast have you taken it up to?

The 550 is the Daytona of my generation and is definitely on my short list. I like the 575 a little better in terms of styling (sorry Chuck) but, like you said, they're hard to find with a 6-speed so I find myself leaning back toward the 550.

Very nice car. Congrats on the acquisition.

Now, when are you putting the stock wheels back on?
