'73 quarter window exterior trim installation

A couple of questions on the quarter window exterior trim installation on my '73. First, there are five spacers under each trim strip, (3) 4mm, (1) 1.5mm, and (1) 3mm. Can someone tell me where the different thicknesses go?

Second, there's some caulk stripping under the trim piece. Any guidance as to where it goes/how to position it?

    Thanks

I just pulled mine off last night so it's still fresh, although I'm not at home to look at the part. From the front to the back, the spacers go thick, thick, thick, medium, thin.

The caulk is on the inboard half of the strip, and the edge is just about where the screw holes are located. In other words, my spacers were roughly half in the caulk and half out. I think the idea was to put the caulk on the inside only so water could drain outboard.
