I've got a 1969 911S ( I think ) 901/13 transmission. I've googled the serial number but no dice. anyone have an idea how to find the correct car? I'd prefer to see them re-united if possible. thanks much, Don.

    type number 901/13

My April build 69S is has S/N 7196128, and the chassis is almost 3/4 of the way thru the build, so that would place your trans as a late 69. Probably in the range of chassis #119 30 1200.

This was the standard 5-speed transmission for both '69 911E and S models, and optional 5-speed for a 911T.

There was no 911S-specific transmission in 1969.

There is no way to find the car it came from, other than going through every kardex, by hand, for 69 911s (not just Ss) and looking for the trans number. Good luck with that!

PS: I guess you could eliminate the first few hundred 69 911s that came with transmissions with "die cast" housings
