Does a Lietz style rear Luggage Rack exist for a 911?

There are some wonderful rear mounted luggage racks for 356's but did anyone make one suitable for early 911's?

Yes there was an engine lid rack but I seem to recall it was maybe Amco.
It was fairly basic and there was a similar one for the 914 as well.
The Lietz racks were a work of art by comparison.
I would have to delve into the magazine archives for a pic.

    Cheers
    Dennis.

Back then, the factory themself never provided any rear engine lid luggage racks "356 style" for 911 1963-1973.

US Member Soterik today supplies a superb (repro) luggage roof racks for the early ones:
    HERE
    http://www.autoforeignservices.com

The factory provided four types in their 70/71 accessories dealer binder:

a luggage roof rack for Coupe and Targa

a ski/luggage roof rack for Coupe and Targa

a ski rack for Coupe only

a ski rack for Targa only

I am not so sure about those pedroracks unless you seriously don't care about paint or for that matter the engine lid. I used a Hollywood bike rack (similar design) on a different model of car for many years and even after the first use, you start noticing damage. Scratches at the top and bottom occurs where it clips to the body, and unless you can be spot-on with the straps, wind flapping will cause strap slapping say that 3 times really fast; against the paint. The image of this 'Pedrorack' (for Porsche) will also drop four point forces to the lid adding to spot damage.

I agree, I'm not endorsing, just giving information on the type of rack requested by jedwards. Soterik's racks are the best option

Yes the roof rack may be a better solution, but that terrible wind noise!
