'72 911T - No gaskets for MFI throttle bodies to intake ports?

I am bolting my MFI throttle bodies back onto my rebuilt engine and noticed that unlike the exhaust ports, there were no gaskets or seals of any kind between the throttle body and cylinder head on my intake ports.

I am guessing that this was not correct.

I checked in my copy of PET and there appears to be 2 gaskets (901 108 391 04) and an Intermediate flange (901 108 131 00) between each throttle body and the intake port, but Pelican said it was for 'Zenith carburetor manifolds'.

Can anyone clarify if I need to order just a set of 6 gaskets, or 12 gaskets and 6 intermediate flanges?

On MFI you just use the 6 gaskets. Are you saying there were none when you disassembled the engine?? It's amazing the atrocities that can be done to those engines,,,,and they still run!!

The Zeniths used a phenolic insulator block to prevent fuel from boiling in the carbs. That uses a gasket on either side as illustrated.

Obviously with MFI that is not a concern! So just six gaskets between head and TB. Don't forget your magnetic tool, this is used to retrieve the nuts you drop down the intake ports during installation!

Don't worry, I'll leave the masking tape across the ports so nothing can fall in while I bolt the throttle bodies on. ;-)
