Anyone have experience disassembling a 5 bar engine grill?

Can the bars on top be popped off? I need to repainted the mesh and mounts and was trying to get out of taping? Maybe it's better to tape it all off?

I take ti you mean the grille across the cooling air inlet.

It is held to the rear deck lid by 10 (I think) special bolts, which have nuts on the inside of the rear deck lid. Remove (and save) those and the grille and mesh come out.

The grille can be further disassembled to its pieces, so you can straighten and polish the grille and paint the mesh and the part of the deck lid that goes under the grille.

I meant the actual bars pressed on the grill itself. I decided to tape each bar off and repaint. Just finished the tape job. It took forever.
