    Battery charging

    I have a 1973 911 with the 2 battery original setup.
I want to put a trickle charger on the car. Does it matter
which battery I connect to. It seems that I read somewhere
    that it does? Thanks

Both batteries wired in parallel in car, thus it doesn't matter what battery the charger connects to. Confirm all battery posts are clean. Don't overcharge, possible even with a trickle charger. For long term battery storage, use a battery maintainer.

Battery tenders for our Porsches work great but can fail. A ground disconnect will serve the same purpose on the drivers side battery. The passenger battery was put there
by Porsche only to balance the stability of the car. Now,with the advent of batteries weighing in under 10lbs, disconnecting and removing passenger battery and replacing the
drivers side battery will save close to 60 LBS, or the equivalent of about 9 gallons of gasoline or making a 200lb male weigh 135lbs.....just sayin'

    Curtis,
Using marginal CCA batteries only works in mild climates. Not much margin when cranking in climates approaching freezing temps.

I would hope most wouldn't venture out in their early 911's in sub frezzin' climate. The heaters in these cars are not very efficent.

My experience is they work ok , you just need to get it hot.
I'll actually drive mine in very cold temperatures as long as there's no salt on the ground.
