    Smile 1967 911S Mufflers

I am still running the original muffler on my '67 911S Targa -- after 210,000+ miles! I am surprised, as I replaced the exhaust manifolds/heat exchangers once -- due to rust.

Since I have owned the car for 44 years, I purchased a new muffler to replace the original, but it has not been necessary. I guess that my muffler is stainless steel, to live that long.

Has anybody else had this (good) experience?

My muffler is also original on my 67S. 171,000 miles. Not sure what metal it's made of but it is sure stout!

I would guess that yours an mine are made from unobtainium.

mine is the original one from 1968 as well. It's got the little air pump doohickey but it is capped off.

Too bad they didn't make the exhaust manifolds/heat exchangers out of the same stuff.
