    Silly question:

I have a red shroud that has some spots here and there. Does this stuff repolish these scratches? Is it kind of wax?

    Thx,
    Martijn

No silly questions Martijn... You should use the product like stain, and you rub it in like staining wood...

However, the product Brian has is Tandy's acrylic leather paint and not the semi-translucent red dye... Brian, I've never used this for restoring a shroud, have you had any experience with this paint? And could you show us how it came out?

Sure. My shroud was in pretty sad shape, so after fixing the cracks and making all the new 'ears' with fiberglass, I tried the translucent dye. It was too 'weak'. I tried to spray on some red gelcoat: not smooth enough. That left paint or this dye, which I used. I like the finish, but should have 'dulled' the gloss down, maybe by wet-sanding with 1500/2000. The color is very good.

Certainly. Sorry this morphed into a "how-to", but maybe it will help others.
