Carpet Type Question for 69 E coupe

I have a question regarding original carpet types for a 69 E coupe. If the COA has no carpet type information, what would've been correct for the car. The interior is Tan, and had velour carpets in it, but it appeared to be a replacement set so I can't be sure what was original. My favorite type and look is the 356 style square weave, but was this ever available in early coupes. Any help or would be appreciated. If anyone has a photo of the 69 interior material samples fold out, that would be a huge help....Thanks Steve

Squareweave was used in early coupés, but only in the luggage compartment. By 1969, luggage compartment carpets may have changed to Perlon.

According to Brett Johnson's The 911 & 912 Porsche, A Restorer's Guide to Authenticity, a 1969 911E or 911S would normally have velour carpeting. The only velour color he gives for 1969 is "black" (black with some light gray fibers, also called "charcoal" or "salt & pepper").

    Xpensive,
I have posted these pictures before. COA says "Interior Material Color/Type" Leather/9854. Parked this '69S in my garage in 1976, and this is exactly what it looks like today. Sorry I don't have a close up of the carpet.

SIMI BOB's photos sure look like tan velour. I was kind of skeptical of the listing in The 911 & 912 Porsche, A Restorer's Guide to Authenticity that said all the velour in a '69 was black.

Here's a scan of some old samples:

Of course you could have Velours in Black, Beige/Tan or Brown for a 1969E. Also in Red.
BTW Perlon was ALWAYS reserved for 911T's.
911T w comfort equipment, 911E and 911S had Velours carpeting.

This is the 1969 Color Chart:
