There is one big mistake in the comments: Schenk produced not two but THREE of these transporters for Porsche. The first one had the license plate S-YZ 32 and was some kind of a prototype, it had some big differences to both the others, S-C9003 and S-M2187, which is with Brumos Buster today. S-C 9003 is part of the Gulf-RofGo collection, was restored after bought from Gunnarracing. The first one, the real Gulf in 1970/71, was sold to BMW in 1972, was used in The IMSA races and later by Marko in the early 80ies, then disappeared, certainly it was scrapped because of heavy rust.
Here an airphoto from a 1973 Christophorus with all the three

The two later transporters were purchased by Kerry Morse and brought to the USA during the early-'90's "fire sale" of the racing department's spares. He never had the time (or the inclination) to restore their rusted-out hulks and eventually sold one to Sutterfield (now at Brumos) and a decade later the other to KJ (now at ROFGO). I saw the first one in '75 when it brought Stuckie's CSL to Laguna. This was the Gulf bus that rusted to death in Austria. My Kodachromes (all rights reserved).

Great pictures, thank you very much.
But there is one mystery about S-C 9003, today the RofGo Gulf. Despite it's body never was painted in Gulf colors it's cargo area was painted blue and orange after 1974, long after the Gulf area and after it's body was painted in the Silver Martini-livery. Even in the videos at gunnarracing or at http://www.whfltd.co.uk/restoration.html during it's restoration you can see the blue and orange loading space???

That's not "Gulf" blue or "Gulf" orange inside the truck in the photos from Kevin's. Martini, Essex, and Rothmans all had variants of blue and orange/red in their liveries. Don't know which spare paint we see there; my guess is Essex -- but that's just a guess based on old photos of their Porsche LM and Lotus F1 colors.

They never repainted Buster inside, why did they do the other? 1973 in Le Mans C 9003 was grey inside, 1976 (Outside in white Martini livery) it was light blue suddenly... Essex, Porsche Motorsport and Rothmans came later.

Rhett, probably because some poor apprentice was told to "find some paint and make the inside look presentable." These were tools, and they got used.

The racing department also seems to have been quite proud of the crude level of finish that they intentionally left on everything that they touched prior to about 1994...
