Business Week: $2 gas and the Toyota Prius

    The math doesn't "work"

There was an excel spreadsheet one of the diesel truck forums made to calculate extra cost of the engine and fuel savings to illustrate cross-over points in time diesel vs. a gas truck. Since Diesel became expensive it's a losing proposition, thank you very much D.C.. The most efficient engine is punished.
Here's mud in your eye Prius owners!

The "General's" new 8 speed transmission promises 15/21 combined with the 6.2 gas engine. It won't out haul a diesel but it's a nice choice for those needing less capacity.

I just returned from my parent's house. It was from Atlanta > Charlotte and back (520 mile round trip).

Please kill me if I ever drive a Prius. You could give me free gas, and I still wouldn't drive one. I drive a proper car.

Driving a Prius long enough and the odds will do the rest.

This isn't a proper sentence. I have no idea what your point of reference may be.

I would never drive a Prius in any circumstances.

Yeah, I told my daughter the other day she might as well drive my tow truck - Dodge Durango Hemi (16MPG) - instead of her VW Jetta TDI (330,000 miles and still getting 42MPG) because cost-wise, it's pretty much a wash. It's $1.90 vs. $3.55 right now
