Will 5.5x15: chrome steel wheels rub on a 1971 T?

I am keen to use 5.5x15" steels with hubcaps on my 1971T as I look the look and there are period correct for my car.
However Sierra Madre has a warning on their website that these wheels might rub on the rear brake callipers on some early 911's.
There is no such warning on the 4.5x15's or on any other site that offers the same wheels.
    • Has anyone had this experience?
    • Can it be overcome?
    • Or should I buy 4.5x15's?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

AFAIK the warning is for early 65-68 cars where you have to use spacers for wider wheels.

I don't think there is any problem for original wheels manufactured back in the seventies, there may be a minor fitment issue for wheels currently produced as replicas. Hence the warning. Why not ask Sierra Madre.

The 4 1/2s do have a different back spacing and barrel shape.
The stock 5 1/2s fit a 71. You may have to use the factory 7mm spacers on a pre 68 car as said.
Unless the replacement wheels have a different barrel shape.
