Changing the oil pressure sending sensor

I own a 1970 911S and the oil pressure gauge goes to 140 and sits there. I think it is the sending sensor, but am not sure, so if anyone has experience with this, I would greatly appreciate your thoughts. Assuming it is, do I just take the wire off the top of the send, unscrew it and install the new one,,,, can it be that simple?

    Happy Holiday.

You can test your gauge by taking the connector off the sender and holding it against the engine. (Ground) It should go to the max reading on the gauge. If so, it is most likely the sender. Another test is on a cold engine, the body of the sender and the terminal on it should not show any ground on a multimeter.

And yes, unscrew the old one, new sender with new alu washer and reconnect the wire, it's that simple.....

like everything, its easier said than done. While not difficult at all, its still located at the very back of the engine and getting a wrench on it is a bit of a challange. There are also two crush washers that need to stay in place while replacing.
