Trying to trace history for 302269 and searching for engine 902 624

    Hi all,

A few months ago I managed to buy this car. It was located in Finland, where it was first registered in 1991 after it had been imported from USA. I’m trying to trace it’s US history, which might be a bit of a long shot, but anyway….. My plans are to restore it to original condition and therefore wanted to give it a go.

All I currently know is the following (according to Kardex):
    VIN: 302269
    Engine: 902 624
    Trans: 223291
    Original color: 5711 Orange
    Interior: Black leatherette
    Delivery: 65-10-01
    Dealer: Gramling, Karlsruhe, Germany
First 3 services in Germany and then in the US.

    Optional equipment:
    Webasto, 2xheadrests, 2xSeat belts

First owner: King Williams Jr., Pasadena, California

A couple of things made me extremely interested in finding out more of this car:
    - color
    - who is King Williams Jr.
    - it has brackets for anti-roll bars (stabilisators) in the rear and they look like they have been there since the car was new

302269 has lost it’s original engine and I would be more than happy to locate it, original transmission is still there.
If anyone knows or remembers this car, I’d be very interested in learning more.

    Many thanks for interest,
    Timo

I don't see the ball ends on the trailing arms to complete the bar install. Can't explain why the brackets are welded on?

Most likely trailing arms have been changed, but this has not happened during the past 23 years. Car has been unused for the past 11 years and what I know previous owners in Finland haven't done it.
