FS: Porsche 915 5 speed transmission

For sale is a Porsche 915 5 speed transmission
I purchased this transmission a few months ago with the idea of putting in my 70 911T that is being restored. The person I purchased it from listed the following description:

"nice low milage (13,500) Porsche 915 5 speed transmission. Fitment is from 1977. I was told it has as been sitting in a garage for over 30 years so will need to have fluid flushed and replenished. This transmission has never been apart to our knowledge and you can still see the factory sealant on the bolts. That being said this is a working low milage 915 transmission"

The transmission is in Northern Virginia outside of Washington, DC. I can ship the transmission.

$2250 for the transmission + shipping.

    Serial Number: 915/14 715 2833

You need to get the serial number and the tranny type off the bottom of the transmission and post it. Any prospective buyers are going to want to know those numbers.

Another helping tidbit for The seller. It appears aluminum cased so post 1977, also has a Carrera diff cover, yet the bellhousing is not notched for The pick up sensors so not a Carrera box(read 84-86).

For those wanting an early 915 7:31 R&P gbx more appropriate for early cars, We have 2 72-73 915 boxes one xlnt used, one rebuilt . Will start my own thread and post ID numbers.

my question is didn't the early 911's use the 901 gearbox? I know my '71 did and my 74 used a 915

Yes, that is correct Thumper. I purchased this gearbox to use with a SC 3.0 engine to put in my 70 911T.
