lol.. umm maybe 5 yrs ago.. thx
I agree...
Available brand new for $2095 plus shipping. Mostly of interest to racers, and it's hard to justify compared to CF at $900 and fiberglass at $250.
The new Al deck lids are not the same quality as the originals. If you have a '70S that came with one but now has steel then you pay. If not, then you don't. GLWS Don.

Dang, I don't get you guys busting dporsche74's chops?? If it's too rich for your blood - move on and keep your opinions to yourselves. Nice piece, GLWS.
Well, I think that any of Porsche's alu stuff is pretty special ---- signature vintage Porsche, IMO
But it's more than a little disheartening to see some of the asking + rumored prices, of some of these bits, lately . . . lids, big tanks, vintage Momos + Recaros, Scheels, usw. For what some of these pieces cost now, I coulda almost bought a whole car . . . and not that long ago, too. I mean --- this is just a hobby, fercryinoutloud
On the other hand . . . . no one's making any more 'original' bits. And so anyone w/ original stuff is gonna have just as hard a time finding another as any of us . . . once they sell what they have
So, I wanna thank anyone who brings their treasures here --- along with their prices . . . to maybe give them up. Gives us all something to look over, discuss, maybe buy . . .
. . . definitely think about
I saw a aftermarket aluminum lid installed on a 911 and noticed that the upper corners were sharper than the original factory one. And the general fit was not perfect. Chris
