    1972 911T CV Bolt Clamp

I have a (new to me) 1972 911T. While the car was on a lift yesterday I noticed that the driver side CV boot had clamps on both sides (inner and outer) of the boot. The passenger side CV boot, looking much newer than the other one, did not have any clamps. Are there supposed to be clamps on these boots and, if so, can you plz advise as to the correct part number (s). I have looked at the 1972 PET and it's not clear to me if there are supposed to be clamps on both sides (inner and outer) of the CV boots.

The large side should have a clamp, the small side clamp is optional. I usually use a tie wrap on the small side. There are four CV joints, check the other two too. I recommend you use the factory clamps PN 999 512 486 00. I recently tried some clamps from Pelican and although they were 74mm Oetiker brand clamps they did not have the proper coarse adjustment to fit correctly.

Resurrecting this thread. Anyone recently bought clamps for their CV boots? And what was the verdict. I've tried the 911.332.257.00 and then 999.512.486.00 from SMC. Neither enabled me to clamp the boot securely - both too large. Are the ones from Porsche different? Or are the likes of SMC and Pelican packaging the same parts with different part numbers? Appreciate advice as the local auto store clamps don't look as good as the OEM ones.

Apparently I'm repeating myself. Time flies.
