Euro Ignition Switch change to USA type

I have a European delivered '67 911 with the steering lock mechanism.
I have read comments that they "fail miserably" so I'm interested in changing it over to the USA type without the mechanism.

Is this easily accomplished with just a new switch?
Or does it create complications with wiring and such.

    Thanks, Steve

If your current lock is complete and working BUT you do want to get rid off the locking you also can cut off just the locking shaft. Than everything will remain the same w/o the locking

The answer is yes. All you need is a non locking switch with spade connectors on it and the corresponding bezel. If your original switch is working, leave it alone, though.

    Regards.
