    Hi everyone
I am starting to restore my 1966 911 and what I can get for its kardex that it had talbot mirrors! Making some research I can see different types of mirrors and even though I was told to look for West Berlin mirror i still think there are differences! Some have longer "necks" than others?!

    Would appreciate your help

    Happy holidays

Here's a scan of the September 1965 (1966 model year) accessories brochure courtesy of Charlie White:

Back in 1965-1966 each Talbot mirror cost DM 22.50 or US$ 5.65.

A gentleman in Whittier California bought the rights and they're still being made http://www.talbotco.com/talbot_mirror.htm. I believe you want the model Berlin 300 Senior with U-bolt mount.

Chromed brass Talbot mirrors had either a stamped logo or a plastic "green dot" logo. The '66 accessories catalog mirror doesn't look like it has a green dot which is nice because the green dots are rare. Actually, the '66 accessories catalog mirror looks like it's aluminum, but I don't think I've ever seen an aluminum Talbot on a street Porsche.

Note that the Talbots weren't mounted at the factory so positions vary. I personally think they look hideous out on the fenders (in the style of English sports cars) but it's your car. If you mount the driver's side mirror where a Durant would have been, a passenger side mirror will have to be farther aft if you want to see it at all. You also need to mount it at a slight angle if you want to see straignt back.

    Correct Talbot

Not the best photo but I believe this is the correct mirror for early 911. Note -- This mirror has been sold a while back.

Thank you everyone for the info
So does the original differ from the one that is still being made?
My other question, does that mean that my second and third pictures are the right ones ?

My car has a durant mirror which I really love, I haven't seen a talbot mirror on an early 911 in real life before. I know it's a personal and different taste but would like to know what you all think and prefer? I'm torn between bringing it to originality or going with what I really like which is the durant (though as o said I haven't seen a talbot in real life).

The newly made mirrors have slightly different logos.

Green dot Talbots are newer than the stamped ones, good stamped Talbots are rare, and more correct for early 911.
Porsche did install Talbot mirrors, they were a different model and optional since the T6 356 body, I had one on my 356SC '65, it was on its kardex (photo is of the excellent replica Stoddard is offering NLA 731 003 06):
