FS: '89 Carrera 3.2 engine and G50 trans.

Customer had us do a very thorough top end rebuild at 90k miles/6 months ago ($10k+). Unfortunately the landscaping truck and his Targa tried occupying the same space at the same time in an intersection 6 weeks ago.
Unusual opportunity to buy a turn-key 3.2 drivetrain; less than 5k miles on the engine work. Oil leak free, new Goetze rings, manganese bronze valve guides, Viton seals/o-rings, new clutch. All still under warranty.
Transmission is textbook; crisp gear changes, no unusual noises.

    $15k OBO
    or trade for Porsche stuff.

    Thanks.

Thanks to all who have expressed interest. I have some options available for those who are thinking about something other than a direct replacement in '87-'89 911.

I can substitute a rebuilt '84 non LSD 915 for the G-50 in case you want to repower an early car with less headaches.

BTW: I should have perused the paperwork before doing the original ad copy. I was incorrect when I simply stated "Goetze rings". This engine got a brand new set of Mahle pistons and cylinders during the rebuild!

This is a great opportunity. Not often properly rebuilt motors come on the market with no core requested.

Will separate if you don't need a transmission.

To address Jules' question in more detail, the car took a hard hit up front and if it were a coupe it might be worth saving.

Would make a sweet Targa Baja Bug.

So true. I have cut up a lot of cabs and targas! Now if only there was a market for targa rear glass. This is a good deal to add some reliable pep to an early car.

I know this may not be the ideal place to advertise this but there is no way I'm posting it on the "other site" where I would get bird brain questions and $5000 offers.

This is a great deal for someone; especially if you want to re-power a 2.7 car.

Send us your car and we'll have this engine installed and ready for you by the next Cars-N-Coffee event.

    Make an offer.

Ready to pull drivetrain and move the carcass but would like to sell motor first so buyer can hear it run.

    Will separate.
    $11.5k engine.
    $4500 G50.

    Thanks.

I placed an ad on PP.
I can only conclude that most over there are posers and picture collectors. It's as if they don't have the money and hoping once they see photos and rebuild paperwork that they will be disappointed and have an excuse not to buy.

    No disappointments here.

Still available. Still in car. Still a great deal for someone doing a re-power.
Lights right up. Pickled properly with race gas.

Open for all kinds of trades.
