    Blaupunkt radio plate

    Hello,
I have an original Blaupunkt radio on 1972 Porsche.
The chrome plate comes off in a snap. Are there any suggestions to hold the plate on a radio?

Your setup looks right, so something must be off by just a bit. Is this a new problem? Do you have the correct side clips with the spring steel to hold the radio at the right depth?

The sides of the chrome trim have holes that bumps on the side of the radio fit- you can see the holes in your photo. That's what keeps the chrome plate tight. A few possibilities: 1) your radio is a bit too far back behind the aluminum/vinyl plate for the holes to engage the bumps, or 2) your bumps are worn off.

The first suggestion: push chrome down with a little more force and see if you can get it to engage. The next, more involved option is to remove the aluminum/vinyl plate and then test fit the chrome piece. Then you tell if there are any problems with either piece and exactly where the chrome needs to sit to engage.

+1 looks like your radio is too far back for the faceplate to lock in with the side holes.
