Repair or Replace Leaking Valve Covers?

Just curious if it's better to simply replace leaking, warped original valve covers with the newer "turbo" style or to fix the leaks by planing the gasket surface flat. I've read through the forums via the search function and it appears planing the originals can be done but I'm not sure if I'm really better off just buying the newer ones. I'd like to re-use my originals if surfacing them is a viable solution over buying new ones but don't want to waste time if the "real fix" is to just by the later style. Any thoughts from the experts on what's the better route? Thanks in advance,

The turbo valve covers have reinforcing ribs to prevent warping. You can resurface the original covers, but you need to do it again

I had to do both to get them to really seal well. Aluminum Carrera upper and Turbo lower, planed flat on a big sheet of 1/4" glass with 600 grit wet/dry.

I would start by planing the mag covers. Install without over tightening. If they leak again you can always replace them in the future.
