For the record - someone trying to sell a VIN

This popped up on the local Craigslist type site. I grabbed the picture for posterity in case it ever crops up on a car for sale in the future. Problem is that I can't quite make out all the numbers, so perhaps some of you more eagle-eyed can write down the VIN for posterity.Name: P-Car_VIN.JPG

    Looks like 9110111606. Porsche bodied 1970 T #1606.

Thanks for the correction Peter. One too many ones...

I guess I'm not getting the gambit here. The VIN plate is the easiest identifier to source and stamp. In fact, more than a few legit, high-end restorations have done so. Now, if the seller includes the slugs of the trunk VIN, the dash production number and the Virginia title then there'd be real value to the unscrupulous. As apparently offered, it's just a rusty slam panel.

Not everyone is as keen as yourself. Many who aren't enthusiats wouldn't know there's a VIN under the dash or in the trunk. If the only thing they know to check is a VIN plate and a title then they're screwed :/
