    Cruise control for early 911?

Does anyone know if someone makes a cruise control specifically for early 911?

I know I can get a generic unit and adapt, was hoping someone has done the hard work for me.

    Mitchell,

Besides the hand throttle you already have in the car ?.... You know, that's the 'cruise control' with NO bells and whistles that's REALLY dangerous...

I've used it a few times in the last 25 years..... It will keep you on your toes.......

Yes Chuck, apart from that one

The same thing but with an electronic brain so I can 'set and forget' on the highway (and protect my licence)

I always thought that if you held the gas pedal all the way down a Porsche would travel at its "cruising speed."

That's the autobahn cruising speed (or in Australia the Northern Territory cruising speed) but sadly where I live the roads are speed limited.

Too bad Singer only sell whole cars and not a range of the tasty bits they put in them.

I'm sure you can retrofit the system from a Carrera or SC, although it would take some doing and depend on the engine in your car.

Not sure anything other than OEM Porsche would be a good idea.

I'm sure you can find one of those radio/ burglar alarm/ tint/ shops that will say they can do it,,,,,,,but I have seen what those places can do to a perfectly good wiring harness. In short, I know of no good way to do this.

Good call Ed. Been there done that too. Given that there is a 2 metre throttle rod running the length of the car in a roomy tunnel I can't see why it shouldn't be possible. I will do my best, post the results and leave it to others to judge success or failure.
