    I have one. Dual outlet M&K on my SC that has a cutoff circuit welded onto one of the pipes. Could be done with some fabrication skills using the same mechanisms to go from straight pipes to stock outlet. These are readily available from vendors like Summit Racing.

    To all of you guys poo-pooing this guys intentions - unclench. This is a very, very valid thing to consider. For example, my 906 replica motor doesn't make full potential unless on headers and megaphones. But for 9/10 situations, megaphones are way too loud and also negatively impact the low end torque curve of the motor. A cutoff solenoid is the perfect way to address quiet driving around town, then achieving full potential easily when on the back roads. Flip a switch, stock muffler to race pipes. Brilliant. FWIW, this has been my plan of record for my '69S. Stop this patronizing b#llsh!t.

    It's why the people who actually know s#!t about these cars don't contribute anymore.

    Hi Mitchell, I'm very interested in hearing all about your electric A/C project. There was an article in 911 & Porsche World Magazine several years ago that Chris Harris was installing electric A/C in his Viper Green 911 ST build but I can't seem to find it.

    Will get a pic. It is off the car so very easy to shoot. Btw, they're it's a guy on pelican from Brazil who fully EFIed his 70S by machining three MFI injector preys for EFI. Works great.

    Tim G: haven't got that far with AC, it's a rapidly developing area as - like electric vs hydraulic steering - car companies are realising that supplying electrically on demand is far more efficient than having a constant drag. I have a mate who is an AC guy and he says is a straight forward technical issue with that lovely big trunk area with nothing in it, the big space behind the dash occupied by that frighteningly ineffective fan, plenty of space behind the front bumper etc. His advice is to recover a full system from a late model car like a Prius and then work out how to shoehorn it in.

    Pretty high priority for me as it gets stinking hot here and I'd prefer to be choosing between my car to drive that day based on how I feel rather than which one has AC. I think if Stuttgart had weather like ours I suspect Mr Porsche wd have devised better AC earlier. I certainly have never found myself wanting for heat when it's cold

    Kennik: Classic Autowerks sells adaptors and other gear to convert. I think a stealth conversion inside a dead MFI body would be really cool, and about the easiest thing in the world with modern systems - you can even program it to pump a bit of raw fuel through on liftoff/overrun like the MFI if backfires float your boat. Lighter on your wallet and the environment and cheaper than an MFI pump rebuild. Not for everyone but I ain't mandating it. A/C will come first though because my MFI pump is fine except for cold starting which I think will be solved with the Partsklassik CDI box I have requested for my birthday and a bit more fine tuning of my recently rebuilt throttle bodies.
