    Carl,

Those may be an old IMSA GTU set. I'd need to see the piston domes to determine if they are the 11:1 sets or not.

    Steve,

Will get that info up tomorrow morning. I hate unwrapping these things but there's probably no other way to ID them in this case.

    Thanks!

    Hate unwrapping?

    Lol.
Carl, these are pistons and cylinders. Eventually, hopefully they will go into a motor and the pistons will be subjected to intense explosions SEVERAL TIMES per second in a historic race car.

They are not Faberge Eggs to be displayed in a glass case.

    Frank,

True enough, but I feel that if we can determine what they are without unwrapping then it should be done that way. The end user should be the one to unwrap them. I don't own an IMSA GTU RSR (if that's what they're for) so that's not going to be me!

Any idea from the box what they were made for?

As an engine builder it's really difficult to see parts like this get treated like ornaments.

A buyer would much rather know what's in the box; not what's printed ON the box.

Sorry Frank, I didn't mean to make it difficult on you. If you're still looking for that cathartic, Christmas unwrapping sensation I'll post a video of the unboxing on YouTube.

    Carl,

Here's the biggest question I have:

If that box has all 6 pistons and cylinders in it and your holding it with one hand and taking a photo with the other, I would like to know what your forearm workout consists of.
