Thumbs up Fun day at Willow........

I joined in last Sat. for one day on the ACSC (Alfa Club of Southern Calif.) weekend at the big track at Willow Springs International Raceway in Rosamond CA. The weather was some of most exceptional I've experienced in almost 50 years.... Clear and cool/cold in the morning, warming up to the mid 60's in the afternoon.... WITH NO WIND AT ALL!!!!

The POC was running the small track (Streets of Willow) for the same weekend... but I thought I'd go out to the big track to hang with by old buddy Hector who was running his GTAm tribute. I also let my bud Chris Tallon know about the event and he came out with his new killer '04 GT3.... See:
    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...ariants/page37

I hadn't run the big track for one year.. and that day with bad tires........

My old car ran perfectly all day... No muss, no fuss....
Now the old dude behind the wheel is a different story........ .

I ran most of the 4 sessions with a passenger for the third...... 29 laps, equaling 72.5 track miles for the day

I ending up running over a second faster then last Jan. ... but almost 4 seconds slower then my best at the track.........

I guess I need a lot more track time.... And need to find where I left my 'attachments' when I ran those 4 seconds faster years ago........

    - In the pits before
    - Chris's new weapon........

Nope, Brandon's car is a GTA with big fenders... as sometimes they were raced in Europe.

Nanni Galli (ex-factory AutoDelta driver) raced this car at Monterey last Aug.

Wow! Didn't realize that GTA's were converted to GTA/M spec as there were quite a few differences, although it makes sense, in period. Interesting. Just sent an original Monza gas cap and Monza Momo to my friend that is handling the construction of mine.

Chuck, That is such a great shot of you and Hector!!! Really tells the story of you two. The pic caught your personalities so well. Almost 50 years as friends, now that'll be a party next year!!!!

Awesome day for sure! Perfect weather and a good horsepower day too. 32 degrees when we arrived at 7am, but warmed up fast, So many old friends and a very well organized event to boot. The Alfa guys are way laid back.... Great times, and as the man said.... Drive your cars
2004 GT3 Carrara White with a few mods...
    2011 987.2 Spyder White, LWB's, 6 speed... Crazy Fun!!!

I was there in the race group with my Spec Boxster. The weather was about the best you could ever hope for at Willow Springs.

And the Alfa guys were the some of the best that I have ever run with!
