GFDI. Way too low price on that car. Crap. And here I am trying to build one of these.
Seems whenever I leave my computer for more than a few hours I miss something really good.

Apparently not too good to be true. It's already sold. Very well bought.

Ad from the bird copied for posterity (NOT MY CAR, NOT MY AD):

I have decided to sell my 1966 5-gauge 912 that has been tastefully converted to the 911R-type with a 2.2 engine with real Weber 40IDA carburetors. It has all the cool stuff normally associated with an “R” build, as detailed below, but is in the style of a more refined touring car as opposed to a race/track car. The car runs beautifully and drives commensurately. It is stiff due to the torsion bar package so you will feel the bumps but it handles them well. The car presents very well (gets a great deal of attention from admires) but does have some residual rust damage in the rear portion of the outer rockers, jack points and the underside of the torsion tube supports. When I changed the torsion bars I inspected the torsion tube and structurally, there appear to be no issues. The rust was treated and has not gotten any worse over the past several years of my ownership. It came from California and has not seen rain while I have owned it. The floor pans, inner rockers, center tunnel and jump seat area appear to be very solid. While I replaced the front pan, I did not address the area in the rear because there were no apparent structural concerns and it did not affect the drivability or appearance of the car, in my opinion.

In addition, I have a great many hours of my personal time involved in car. Accordingly, I am asking $37,500 for the car. If you are a serious buyer and have questions or want more photos, please contact me at either 813-335-1518 or email me at art_trg@embarqmail.com. I am not interested in trades. Looks nice but have you noticed the massive overspray on the front latch and screws? Lipstick on a pig?

What is it about bad-mouthing pigs? What's wrong with a pig? Especially a pretty one.

All I know is that someone brought home the bacon.

not crazy about the interior - but for under $40K?!!!! you can do alot worse. I would have bought it - if I knew it was listed. A few tweeks here and there and this could easily be a $65K plus car
