FS: @AK 1971 Porsche 914-6 Numbers Matching Willow Green - Not Mine

I've never seen this color before and apparently, it was unique to 914's.

Paul and Ed just got this car from their client. It has a very cool history and is stunning and immaculate. People have been all over the car since he got it last week. I don't think he has officially advertised it yet and there is no price on his website so I'm not sure what it's going for, but I've heard rumors it will market at around $100k.

Hmmm...since I sold my RS hotrod, I've had money burning a hole

nice one , but very pricey due to excellent history and reputation.

and what i honestly do not understand . . begging the old owner to sell it, for years.
then, when they have it, they do sell . .
    such a nice 914 . . .

What's wrong with the history? I think the history is amazing and what I certainly look for in an older Porsche. This car is known and documented by a whole Porsche community for it's entire life. The guy who owned it the longest is not only the same guy that did the mechanical restoration, but also the same guy who drove it home from the dealership new. Also, he happened to own one of the most respected Porsche repair shops in the mid-west (Rennsport Werkstadt). Furthermore, as a fixture in the local PCA community, everyone in the area knew the car. So, there were know hidden stories or mishaps in the cars life. I've had quite a few people in the Tulsa PCA call me and comment/vouch for the condition of the car before I ever had a chance to see it. That's refreshing these days.

Regarding an owner's choice to sell a car. This owner is a private collector and has owned the car for over 7-years. As we all know, life sometimes gets in the way of our Porsche hobby. I can attest for myself and many of my clients who have bought cars that they "had to have" and then life takes a change in course and they don't become important. This particular owner has some life changes that make selling this car necessary. He doesn't have to sell it, but it is the right thing to do at this time.

    LOL...no worries. All's good.

Regarding the history, besides documented interviews with all the parties involved, we also have a 3-ring binder outline much of the history via receipts, vehicle/DMV registrations, etc. that corroborate/validate the history.

Yeah, I've had many calls from Europe because there are so few. Too bad the Euro is so week right now...otherwise, it would probably be on a container

    Cheers,

    Paul

Love the color! With such a great provenance, any idea why it doesn't have the correct rear chrome bumper?

Thanks. I love the color too. I wondered the same thing about the rear bumper. So, I started doing some research. The rear bumper is in fact original to the car and unrestored. Most 914-6 cars are 1970 model year. The few 1971 examples (only 260 built) do in fact have the a different bumper. It is basically the same 1971 914-4 production run because the 6's were being discontinued. It had me stumped for a while.

It is one of the few ways to differtiate between the years.

    Cheers,

    Paul

Thought that might be the case but have never had it confirmed before. Nice to know. The only other willow green 6 I've ever seen is the one owned by George at Auto Atlanta? He has an absurdly low mileage one in his stable with less than 7k miles I believe. Great reference car for originality.
