FS: A very special Heuer Rallymaster - 1969 Porsche Factory rally car replica

Hi all, after months of searching I have acquired the parts to build another set of these Porsche factory Heuers - below is the advert body from the first set, as the two are identical - the pictures are of the set for sale here.

Hi folks, I have another set of Heuers on offer - this is no ordinary Rallymaster. This set is a carbon copy of the unique sets installed in the 1969 Porsche factory rally cars. An example of these special sets can be seen mounted on the dash of a '69 factory rally car at OnTheDash, the famous Heuer site, 3rd picture down:

    http://www.onthedash.com/Guide/_Mounted/

These sets are unique is a few ways - they have matt black cases and backplates but chrome crowns and pushers. The Monte Carlo dial is the later Tachymeter type with the word "Tachymeter" written on the dial - hard to see in the OnTheDash picture, but a bit of detective work has proven to myself that this dial is correct. The screws holding the set to the dash are different, these are generally domed head but on the Porsche, they are flat head. These details are all present in this set for sale.

About the actual clocks in this sale - they have been fully serviced by myself (watch maker/restorer by trade) and are running perfectly. They are in mint condition in every way possible. The backplate is Genuine Heuer.

As far as I know (and I have researched thoroughly), Heuers in this Porsche format have never been offered for sale before by anyone except myself, they would be a major talking point over a standard set of Heuers due to how unique to Porsche history this particular setup is.

Price - £3250 GBP posted to the USA or Europe
    Location - Lincoln, United Kingdom

Nice. I thought that the 69 plates and screws were just hit with flat black paint like a lot of the shiny trim in the cab was, to cut down on the glare. If you look closely at the screw heads in the 69 photo, it's pretty clear they were painted over and I think the plate was as well which would lead me to believe that it was originally a chrome plate.

I do like how you executed your set however. GLWTS.

You are correct, the original set would more than likely have started off chrome and been painted matt black - I decided that, rather than simply paint over the chrome (not a durable finish at all) I would do it properly, correct primer, base coat and top coat - the colour of the sets are the same.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I could not seem to get ahold of miniman via DM. Are you able to sell just the back plate? I have a set of vintage heuer with a double and two single back plates. They are all chrome, but I wish to acquire a black set. Thanks!
