Dan, did you find a swb trans mount yet? This one was mounted to a 901 trans. Shoot me a pm if you still need one.

I learned the hard way and got a sporto mount the first time around. You have to be careful, even on the ESR, you can get snookered. Eventually, I picked one up from AASE, and had sent it off to WEVO for powder and welding for black pillows to match my engine mounts.

What is the lesson on the sport0 mount compared to a manual transmission mount on a 901 ?

The lesson could be that you should buy from trusted, experienced people, but I digress..............

Sporto mounts and regular mounts are very different but you really can't tell the difference until you put the two together.
The 901 mount is much more curved at the front than the sporto. It is easy to tell the difference when the two are placed side by side.
Now, if some jerk sold a sporto mount(I'm assuming that he was just ignorant, not a bold faced liar) thinking it was a 901 mount and didn't return the buyers money, he should be called out and banned from the EarlyS Registry classifieds. That kind of behavior should not be tolerated. We all make mistakes but we should be accountable for them. The mount on the top is the Sporto mount. It's front edge is almost straight. The 901 mount has a big curve in it.

    Regards

    Jim

Thanks a lot for this information. I never knew there was a different mount for Sport0 & manual! I mis- read post 7 above and purchased a Sport0 mount, thinking it was a preferred mount over the manual!!! I messaged the poster on # 7 , for clarification,no answer. So, I have a nice powered coated Sport0 mount to hang on my garage wall?
It is for sale if anyone is in need....cliff
