    Early 901/0 Value?

Just pulled this transmission out of the 912 I purchased. It is a 901/0 serial # 100274 with date stamp 38/64. Seems like a pretty early serial # and belongs in a 911. The car didnt run when I purchased it so I dont know anything about the internal condition other than I was able to row through the gears. What's the value on something like this?

Core value on a 901 transmission is $500 or so last I looked, but that was a while ago. There isn't anything that I know of about the early transmissions that would make them more desirable than later ones. Actually, the other way around.

Transmission 100274, look for a Wednesday January 13, 1965 car, serial number 300 262 - your transmission was in that car when it was built.

To that single car it may have value, but even one digit off - not so much.

We have the lost and found thread and reading thru there have been a number of cars and engine/transmissions rematched. Give it a try. Happy hunting.
