    ST cooling

    Hi
I'm looking for information on ST 2.3/2.5 oil cooling
I know that now we use 930/02 oil cooling to avoid more than 100° but how wer build engine in 70's?
They of course did not have 3.2l parts so which part under left fender was fitted to reduce temperature?
    many tks

Proper race engines of the time had no engine mounted oil coolers, so left and right fender mounted oil coolers were used. Gordon

The first 2.3 ST cars used an engine cooler with one fender mounted Behr oil cooler. Fabrice, you should have the correct oil lines in your sill / rocker of your 2.2S. ? You just need to spend a few thousand on a cooler: eek: Rumour has it that there will be reproductions of these coolers for sale in Essen in April. We will see.?

Fabrice, I have your Aluminium door skins.

    Dave, and all people
A french well known mechanic add every time another cooler on the left side(driver side), he use a 930 radiator on the left fender
Of course I have OEM 2.2LS OIL lines and right OEM fender cooler, but he appear to not be enough for those type of mag engine, which are a little bit less robust than alu engine...
TKS for skin, I will contact you later

You can do what you want Fabrice. Depends how period correct you want it. From memory 1970 2.3 ST 911/20 motors had just one fender cooler with the engine cooler as per the 2.2S production car. ?
Your problem is the price of the Behr cooler. Later or Elephant racing set up is a good alternative.
