The engine did surface in 2008: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...ml#post4370149

I contacted the poster, Max, who unfortunately did not buy the car, nor did he have the contact details, but he guessed it was advertised locally somewhere in the Vancouver area.

As stated in the link above the engine was mounted in the car with VIN 91111011452 Anyone who knows about this car is welcome to contact me.

Any ideas on how to bring it back to the surface would be most appreciated!

    Cheers!

The guy on Pelican that brought that thread to life, maxnine11, the guy that viewed the car personally is still an active member there. Have you tried messaging him and getting ahold of him? Kind of a long shot but it's worth a try. The number for the car is most likely 9111101452. It sold on an ebay auction apparently around Oct. 2009. The item number is too old though for a search to produce anything on ebay.

I contacted him and unfortunately he could not remember who the seller was. He thought the car was located in western Canada somewhere.

Johan, I would guess the haystack is very small, only a few possibilities actually. Problem is that the needle looks more like a straw......
    Good luck!

I still haven't given up on the idea of re-uniting car and engine
