Recaro Sport Seats, Pair, w/ Tilt brackets & Silders

Selling a pair of early Recaro Sport seats. These were recovered at some point in the 80's with the material seen in the photos. Obviously the drivers seat shows the wear.

The seats are coming out of a '69 911 E that I have up for sale. I also have plenty of other parts for sale, including the lollipop seat in the photos.

Asking $6000 obo. Please contact me at eric@herg.net or 949.296.5828

(custom lollipop seat also for sale separately)

I'm sure it's possible that a buyer of this car in 1969 could have picked up a set of sport seats in 1969 and just bolted them right in. I just wanted to clarify for the sake of those looking at your post. That fabric from what I can see is the cord that was considered OEM from Recaro back in the day, never have seen it on the bolsters, just on the inserts.

BTW, nice lot of parts you have for sale, great pics, and good prices as well.

    cheers,

    Thank you for the input!
Yes, I believe they are 68's...last mounted into my pops '69E but they were not original to that car. He traded them out for his stock '69 seats in the early 80's and had them recovered by a Recaro specialist of the time with the corduroy fabric because it was more comfortable for the daily driver.

I remember reading in the past that Recaro sold the same exact seat that they issued Porsche in the aftermarket stores. So, the cars like BMW and Volkswagen will occasionally show up with the same seats - but with the Recaro badge. This should not impact the pricing since the seats need recovering anyway. I am with Eric, that these are likely the original covers for these seats. Not sure what sliders they used in the aftermarket sales. If the buyer is lucky, maybe these are the wider version. I wish I kept my original pair that was a tad wider, they are more comfortable on longer trips.

You can probably find a date ink stamp at the bottom of the sliders under the seat.
The stitching seems to be '74 aftermarket.
Could be that the bottom aide bolsters are a little less wide and the seat cushion a little wider than the earlier model.
At least that was the case with a set like these that I had myself. The internal frames are all the same for this aftermarket model. Tilting brackets have become just aa a rare beast as the seats themselves. Great for a 68 car!

Hi you could even get them as OEM from BMW, but they were more the 69 onwards style with the little feet on the bottom having just one hole for mounting to the bracket.
The BMW OEMs however hat a bit different side boulsters. The material on the seats is the late 73 - onward material, I think they are a recover job as the grain from Headrest and side boulster doesn't match. Eric, if you look closely into the upper sliders there might be an inkstamp with the QC date.
Including brackets thats a nice assambly.
    Cheers

Looks like 2 drivers side seats, is that correct. I think after '68 passenger side was available.

    '68 seats were not side-specific.
