Restored 65-67 Shifter Assembly: price reduced

    Price Reduction: $295 plus shipping.

I had several shifter assemblies which I dis-assembled and sent for re-finishing, including one with the threaded shifter lever (65-67). If you are being very careful as to originality, according to Figure 7/2, as well as narrative page 1 of section 7/2, of the 6/67 version of the Parts Manual, note '+)' says, "After the stock fig. 6 (threaded shifter) is sold out, please use lever knob 901.424.011.03" (shifter lever with crush sleeve). I am guessing that somewhere between 6/67 and 11/67, the factory 'sold out' of the threaded shifter levers. (So you can check your build-date, if you are near that period.)

That said, I have a polished & re-plated shifter lever; along with a stripped, blasted and powder-coated base (by Whit Maletic); plus the other parts shown in the shifter assembly on Figure 7/2 of the Parts Manual (and photos below), cleaned and offered for sale.

As shown in the photos, the package includes the following:

    1. 901.424.011.02 re-chromed shifter lever
    2. 901.424.015.02 stripped and powder-coated "switch bracket" (shifter base)
    3. 914.424.131.00 'thrust spring for gear change lever'
    4. 901.424.132.00 'guide for thrust spring'
    5. 901.424.017.00 'Stop Plate'
      6. 914.424.901.00 'Ball cap'

I honestly have found no comparable offers in order to set accurate pricing. Most of the existing offers are in used condition, requiring dis-assembly and restoration, which I have performed. So I can only speculate using the 'asking' prices in the current market. As such, I am asking $295 (to include paypal fees). Add $15 shipping in the US (USPS flat rate). As always, if my price is out of line, I will not be offended by better information and reasonable offers. (I won't turn away international buyers, but the cost depends upon how much work is required for their shipping.)

    Hesaputz,

I have no problem with your information. thank you.

The quote in the ad is taken directly from the Parts Manual dated 6/67, which would make the switch to a crush sleeve after June during the '67 Model Year. (My 8/67-build ('68MY) had the crush sleeve, too.) In the ad, I stated that I was guessing about the change-over, for the purpose of informing a potential buyer about what might be correct for his car. If previous discussions about specific changeover dates are any indication however, the factory may have had some threaded shift levers after 6/67, as the Parts Manual stated. Also, lots of other production changes were taking place late in the '67MY, including new US regulations.

Unless I am missing something, I think the ad information remains correct. The threaded shift lever was still used in MY '65-'67, and changed over toward the end of the MY. But if I have stated something to be misleading, please let me know.

Just trying to help out - as you say, the changeover probably isn't clear cut. My '67 also came with a large Durant mirror.
