2.7 Hot Rod / Race Engine

Complete from air cleaners to exhaust to flywheel. 2.7 mag case with 2.7 RS pistons and cylinders, 40 Webers, S cams, ARP rod bolts, George's headers with megaphones and aluminum flywheel. I just removed this from a 67S to be replaced with a proper aluminum 2.0 for vintage. This was the legendary Mike Hammond's time trial engine. For those of you who have seen the car run you know it was fast. Last raced in September, last record in April. It runs great, no leaks or smoke. Truly a plug in and go 200+ hp engine. Needs a good home. $13,500. Please contact me directly. DAhearn67@gmail.com 631 786 6511. Thanks.

So ... you bought the car?

I was wondering when Hammond was going to sell ... haven't seen him at the track - LEADING THE PACK - this season.

He really made that little 67 fly.

Is this a high-compression engine that needs high octane track fuel? Or does it run on street pump gas 93?
    Thanks

    93 is fine with 2.7 RS p&cs.

Yep, he just told me he was going to retire the car!

Oddly enough, he called me about finding a BOXSTER for the track! I can't imagine him driving one around...

Then you have no imagination, dude. Hammond is a racer to the core ... ask him to show you pics from his 935 days ... if it's got wheels and a motor he'll find a way to make it go fast through T9.

    Sorry for the hijack, Don.

It's a great motor that came from a great car ... someone would do well to buy this thing and plug it in their street car. It will run on CA 91 pump gas.

No Hijack Marco. All good. I was reluctant to even post it but it does not work for where the car is headed and someone here has to see the value in it. As far as the Boxster, just another tool for Michael to go around the track quickly. Thanks.
