1968 Differential Output shaft O ring info needed

    Hi all

I have a 1968 911 with a 902/0 transmission. I have a leak on one of the output seals, I have a new seal ready to go in, but when I disassembled the output flange, I learned that this flange has a aluminum cap with a fitted O ring inside. I cannot find the part no. in my book or online.

No. 8 in the PET drawing, if fits over the cap (7) and seals the inside of the flange.

Thanks in advance for any help in how I might obtain this part.

Your trans does not have a aluminum cap. You Have nothing to worry about. You are looking at a parts diagram of a 67 trans, not a 68.

You have a 67 trans. The O ring can be sourced by size and the flange seal is readily available through the usual suspects.

Jim is incorrect . There were '68's that left the factory with transaxles with this o ring .
