Aluminum Engine Case 901/05 Needs Repairs

This 911 engine case # 909849 had damage to the Driver side case half (forward corner). The case was repaired and used by prior owners, but I would send her to Ollies for correct repairs prior to future use.

Price = $2200 delivered in the Con US

    Will ship to Europe

    Excellent, thanks!
Not every time you can find your original engine case after decades. My 67' has been "off road" since 1983 and exported from US at the end of 80's...

Well isn't that awesome. Congrats on that Will.

If only these engines could speak...

Charles, I must say when I saw one of those photos I thought I fat-fingered my screen to a TMZ post showing a Hollywood celebrity's bad Botox experience.

    on that botox

I do have couple of 67' cases already, do you think I could just use drivers side from those? (to replace damaged one)

    Will

Ollies or Competition Engineering here in the US (actually the West Coast and NOT part of our prestigeous "Original 13") can repair this engine case. They may need a cut / section from another damaged case to make a clean repair. Based on my having several 356 Carrera Cases repaired over the years that this case can be repaired.

I spoke with Walt at Competition engineering about substituting another case 1/2 and he warned me that this rarely works well....

Glad we have aligned the original case with your chassis - Makes the heart feel good (or something like that...)

Ollie's can use the original numbered side of the case, #4-5-6, and mate it to a miss matched #1-2-3 side, by surfacing the parting line of both halves and re-machining to standard the main line and the intermediate bore. Gordon

Cool a re-united car, that is a rare occurrence. Yes I think Ollies can mate two cases together, if you shave both halves and the then line hone or bore the center mains and intermediate shaft saddles then it should all match up as they would be the same bore size. This is a ton of machine work back in the day when the cars were worth nothing but today the added cost would totally be worth it.

Congrats- Will. Must have been quite a surprise when your engine number came up

If you haven't done so yet, please list the other 67 cases you have in the 'Lost and Found', maybe someone is looking for them...
