West Coast Beach Party - March 7th

    Hey Gang,

I'll be driving my 914 (yeah, yeah... I know but, it has a twin plug 2.5 and all sorts of other 911 bits added ) from coast to coast to celebrate the 914 being the featured mark at the "Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance" this year in Jacksonville, FL. The LA Literature and Toy Show, along with the SoCal "All Porsche Swap and Car Show" will be held the weekend before Amelia Island so, this gave me the idea... "Why not drive from one event to the other?"

This will be a "From sea to shining sea" drive so, we're planning a send off party on the West Coast and a "we made it" party (hopefully) on the East Coast.

Here's the details on the West Coast Party:

    When: Saturday, March 7th
    Where: Corona Del Mar Beach
    What Time: 5:00 - Until?

Beach basics; we're hoping to secure a fire pit and have chips and dogs etc.

Parking: See the sign below and, there's usually street parking for free within a block or two of the beach.

    See you there!

Wow, awesome plan. The beach party looks like a great way to kick off a very cool road trip. I hope you'll provide updates along the way!

There HAS to be a gumball machine SOMEWHERE in Newport just for this. If not, you should bring your own

Epic trip Eric. If I had the time, a blue GT would be the perfect ying for your yellow yang. Enjoy the drive and pray for good weather.

I'm flying to LA this weekend for the big gathering. Hopefully I score a California lightweight hot rod. Maybe I can tag along across the Ole US of A to Amelia Island...

I've done that trip a few times in various 911's and it's always a hoot....hope you have a fun trip without any issues...my chariot has never let me down on these journeys, but that can't be said for some of my traveling partners.

    Good luck and enjoy.
