    2.0 S ? Connecting rods # 901 103 101 00

    Hi,

This 2.0 connecting rods # 901 103 101 00 were in a 2.2S engine. Weight : 5 are 618gr and 1 is 616gr. The white "S" and dark grey protection were on each rods but the mechanic soft blasted the rods ... the "S" and dark grey were deleted

I would like to know if casting # 901 103 101 00 is 2.0S rods only or not.

    Thanks

Rods for for 'S' motors were given an additional heat treatment and then marked with the 'S' designator, so what you have are 'S' rods.

901 103 011 10 is the 2.0S rod 901 103 011 00 is the standard rod. Look for the solid copper bushing, if it has them, and it appears they do, it is possible they are S with wrong part nr.

    In the link, 2.0S, rods are seen with casting 901 103 101 00 and other with # 901 103 101 0R.

All have the solid copper bushing. I ignored a 2.0 std rod don't have this copper bushing.

What Ed said; S rods were ink stamped 'S', and were nitrided; they were blackish looking when new.
