Cool drawings of your own Porsche

I found this artist through another member's posting on Facebook and just wanted to make everyone aware of him and his services. For $50 he did this incredibly accurate rendering of my '67 hotrod 'Elsie'. He provides a standard as well as high resolution format image for use essentially anywhere an image of your car could be required. His name is Glen and he was a pleasure to deal with. I've had previous drawings done of the car from Chris Jury and they were equally impressive. Anyone interested in seeing his other work, his website is: http://www.auto-illustrated.com/ and his direct email is: info@auto-illustrated.com He can create any size image you require, so if you want to have them printed and framed you only need to tell him how large you want the image to be.

    Cheers,
    -Mike

Thanks Bill, thought there might be a few people who would be interested.

BTW: Here's the drawing from Chris Jury. If anyone wants to contact him you'll have to go through the DDK forum as I haven't got his info accessible. I also don't recall what he charges as I had two drawings done at the time.

    Very cool!
I did a run of these for select friends and p-car folks over the holidays.

Should start work soon on my version of the 904.

Porsche art can be a lot of fun!

Does he do the drawing from a picture supplied to him? I know, that's probably a dumb question but what is the process?

I also had some from Chris. He does good job and gets the deals pretty right.

Hi Bob, I'm Glen and I run www.Auto-illustrated.com

To answer your question, I typically work from multiple photos, but I do use one for the size, scale and proportions. My renders are 100% vector done by hand.

I'll swing in here occasionally, but for quicker response to questions you can use my contact info in the original post or through my website. Thanks all!

I had Glen do an illustration for me after I cleaned my car up for the Luftgekühlt show. I'm thrilled with what he did. It always seemed with this kind of thing that you took a picture and just let a computer trace it out or cover an already-worked out 911 shape with a color or skin. But looking up close, you see that there's a huge amount of creative (and detailed) work involved.

Look here how he has to do the highlight lines around the oil door:

Or the lug studs in the shadows:

And because the art is 'vector based,' you can enlarge it to any size -- like for a print -- without it losing resolution and getting fuzzy.

I'm really happy with the art. (And because I'm a little prone to overdoing stuff, I might get more.)
