    Clutch Choices

I'm replacing the clutch, clutch cable, and pedal box bushings in my '73T. The pedal effort has been too much for for my wife. Sachs lists pressure plate 915 116 001 27 as the replacement for 2.4, and 2.7, 3.0 and 3.2. Is there a Sachs alternative with clamping force more appropriate for a 2.4 w/Webers, E-cams, and 9.5:1 CR ?

    Thanks!

Look into using the "Omega" spring arrangement from later 915 gearboxes. This set up uses a 'helper' spring to relieve the load somewhat.

Look in an early parts book, there was a Sachs clutch listed for the 70-71 T that had a thinner diaphragm, hence less effort. Later listings may only show one number as they tend to use supercessions. The 'S's and and SC's definitely had thicker, therefore higher effort diaphragms.

Thanks for info on diaphragm thickness. Ordered the earlier 225mm clutch and will compare thickness before install.
