    73S - steering wheel/steering shaft spacer/shim question

When I purchased my car, it had a MOMO wheel on it, and now getting to final assembly of the car I removed it to put an original 73 wheel. I seem to be missing a few parts which would seemingly eliminate the up/down and side to side shaft movement. Here is my question. In PET which covers the 70-73 cars, the spacer/shim in the attached photo (taken from another poster for a related topic) is not shown and therefore I am unsure if this is required for my application. Pelican parts does show it, but for earlier (up to 69 cars) applications. It would appear necessary as I don't really see a difference I the steering wheels and shaft, but I'm confused with the PET and Pelican information. Thank you!Name: steering wheel shim.jpg

Yes, you sure do need it. It was a 356 part.
