Oil Tank Question: Shout-Out to Marek

If anyone has a photo of an original oil tank assembly (including filler neck/spout), it would be a wonderful favor to show it. Is the correct original finish gloss black, or something less glossy?

I also have a question re: the oil tank filler neck/spout.

Is the filler neck/spout supposed to be painted? or is it supposed to be left in yellow zinc?

Marek seems to know a lot about oil tanks, but i'm asking the forum for input, as well.

    thank you, as always.

    hey Ms

Dr Marek at your service :-)

Hmm depends what year , but there is NO yellow zinc on any oiltanks to my knowledge

on some, the tube is raw brass , just a few pics to show

maybe you mistake it for yellow zinc

    Marek,

thank you. so, to be clear, the filler neck (#30 on the drawing) is to remain unpainted for a correct oil tank assembly?

    i appreciate your input.
