The real problem is that your car now becomes suspect as well. We have 2 car and one is a fake. You have the burden of proving your car is the real one.
There are very few winners in this game.

That is and was my concern as well. I was suspect when I purchased my car, so I did a lot of research and that initial research led me to believe that my car is the real and authentic car. The seller said the burden of proof is on the clone to prove they are real. However, as you stated, I believe it does make my car suspect as well. That is why I have been trying to meticulously and thoroughly get every proof of evidence to show and prove beyond any doubt that my car is the real and authentic car.
After my research, I am completely convinced my car is the authentic car. But the "clone" is still out there with the numbers of my VIN (fraudulently) stamped on their car and with (4th) owners who (I believe innocently) are claiming that they have the real car. These 4th owners only have one original item to the car, which is the Wagenpass. I would like to find some way to reunite this with my car, as it rightly belongs with the authentic car. Not sure if they will sell it to me without selling the entire "clone"?
So, as stated, there are few winners out there (and it would be expensive $$$ to purchase a clone to get it off the road).

I suppose this is your car, right?

You could maybe contact Manfred Kremer and ask him to inspect your car, so he could authentify it.
After all, this car was entirely made by the Kremer's brothers.

Andrew, good luck in your quest to prove your car to be the original one. And I agree that the Wagenpass should be reunited with your car. Keep us posted on your progress.

This may spark some controversy, but I think it is the next step I need to take.
Does anyone know a good German attorney that knows German auto law well, that also speaks English? I am looking for an attorney that can help me (in an efficient and cost effective manner) to write a letter to a German citizen and have them cease and desist fraudulently representing their clone as an authentic car, and then to demand they destroy the VIN on their fraudulent clone.
