    2015 TX Hill Country Rally

This weekend we are having our Annual Hill Country Rally. We will be based in Kerrville, TX - Close to some of the best roads in TX.

I am starting this thread off with some official Pre-event R&D. We had to make sure the Swag fits.... Fits a full 16oz.

There will be more fun as the week progresses through the weekend.

Looking very forward to this event! I've been planning partake in this event since the mid-2000s, but my car was under a prolonged restoration until now. I heard though that this year there will be "self guided" tours. Basically meaning that there's no specific route, just do your own route and meet up in the evening with everyone for dinner. I was really looking forward to cruising with a whole family of early 911s as this is half the experience in itself; otherwise I may as well go on any weekend on my own. So my question is, will there be a map that people can use to see some of the most scenic routes? I'm not too familiar with this area, but I'm sure the locals and organizers would know some fantastic driving routes?

    Erick,

There has to be certain "language" used in our descriptions. As we get bigger there is more liability concern. We are just a group of people gathering for the weekend. (hint hint wink wink).

There are some people that plan to be at the front following some of the provided map routes. There are iron-butt routes with lots of miles on the best roads, there are medium paced routes with a few more stops and there are a few tour stops. Some leave early, some leave later. There is also a sheet with just location suggestion. We try to cover interest of all attendees.

    Looking forward to meeting you.

I am looking forward to it- Pre drove one of the routes last weekend for over five hours. Roads look great, and I guarantee there will be some great drives. Back roads with 75mph legal speed limits, as well as many areas marked "25mph Sharp Curves Ahead". I even found a low water crossing that is has just enough water to be fun. See you all there! Chuck
