    Price Check Please: 3 - 4.5x15 w/Hearts

    Hi Guys,

I am more of a late Carrera guy, so bear with me (though I did just pick up a mid-year 911 S). Anyway, stumbled into some early genuine Fuchs today. 2 5.5x15's w/o hearts and 3 4.5x15's with hearts. Two of the 4.5's are either chrome or polished (not sure how to tell) and one still has some black paint on them. I wanted to use them as spares in the 2 Carreras and the '77 S. But, now I think I am better off selling at least 2 of the 4.5's and using the funds for other parts.

I know, no pictures. ..will try to post them later. Just assume they are far from perfect, but no cracks or really bad curb rash. Guesstimates on values? Thanks in advance.

Sell all 3 of them. You do not want to run them on anything other a '67. If they weren't so desirable and rare for the '67 crowd, those wheels would be basically worthless. Why else would Porsche only run them on the first year of fuchs production and then switch to a wider rim? They didn't offer a large enough increase in performance. I've heard that they didn't offer an increase in performance at all over the stock steel wheels, but it would seem to me a lessening of unsprung weight couldn't have been a bad thing either. Jettison all 3 of them and don't risk further damage to the rims running them on cars that they don't belong on.

Gearby and Moito...so is $3500 to $4000 USD for all 3 the approximate market price?
And Gearby, thanks for the education. I did not know 4.5's were a one-year, first-year Fuchs wheel. Pretty cool. Makes me want to keep at at least one.

core wheels that need a bunch of work and without caps I think $900/wheel, I have bought a large number of these wheels over the years and never ever paid over $1000/wheel.

Keep these wheels away from anything but a 67, whoever was playing with them in the past was close to ruining them

    Mark,

Are those not the correct centers? They are certainly not installed correctly. Looks like old caulk on the back side.
