    WTB: 1972 915 Shifter

Looking for a clean 1972 915 shifter assembly. This is a one-year-only part and different from the 73+ shifter.

    Thanks in advance.

I've always thought it would be the same shifter as the previous years? How can one tell the difference? What makes it one-year only? Thanks.

A 72 shifter looks just like a 71 or earlier shifter on the top but is very different when viewed from underneath.

    Regards

It does't look anything like a 73 shifter from above or below.

    Ciao

My point is that they're both 915's if you need it spelled out.

Thank you both. I now see the differences between my '72 915 shifter and 901 shifter.
